Summary: The location and resort is absolutely breathtaking! However our experience was not. When we arrived we were told the restaurant was closed for dinner and later found out the chef left and they were closing the restaurant for the rest of the year. We booked this location as our first stop in Italy after traveling from the USA to fight off jet lag and specifically picked this place for an agritourismo experience. We didn’t want to leave the property at all and that was our plan. There is really no where to walk to get food as it is very rural. The was one restaurant that was slightly walkable (15 or so minutes away) but when we made reservations there they cancelled our reservations when they learned we were staying at the “competition resort” which was very petty. Thankfully we had a car to get food, but were left having to leave for any meal except breakfast. There was no refrigerator to store food in our room and even though they serve cold cuts and bread at breakfast, they couldn’t offer us even a sandwich for lunch or dinner when we asked and were willing to pay so we didn’t have to leave. I booked a stand alone room for privacy and to be able to sit outside and relax, but upon moving in they said they upgraded us to the main building. This was not an upgrade at all and was loud and lacked privacy. The staff were extremely nice and apologetic and the saving grace of the place. They should have canceled all reservations and closed for the year without a restaurant.
