Positive: I would like to clarify that the rating I am giving reflects solely the positive attitude and service provided by Stephanie, which I genuinely appreciated.

Negative: While the elevated design of the cabins is visually appealing, the so-called “relaxation areas” are impractical. The only hammock available was fully exposed to the sun and remained wet from the rain, as it was not situated under any form of shelter. Furthermore, no toiletries were provided aside from a single bottle of hand soap, which falls short of even basic hospitality standards. Regrettably, I cannot recommend this establishment, as I found both the management practices and policies to be questionable at best. First, the final charges exceeded the amount listed on Booking.com, including additional fees and taxes that were neither transparent nor properly itemized. Although this is a U.S.-based company, they imposed an extra 6% charge typically reserved for small Nicaraguan businesses when credit cards are used. This fee is inappropriate, considering the payment was made in advance through the online platform and not on-site at check-in. Second, there was a complete lack of contingency planning for power outages—an issue not uncommon on the island. Unlike most local guesthouses and hostels, there was no backup generator available. During my stay, a power outage occurred and there was no staff present to address the situation. The electricity returned eventually, but the absence of communication or support was unacceptable. Moreover, there is no mention—either on their website or their Booking.com listing—that electricity is cut off during certain hours of the day. Third, there is no disclosure regarding the hotel’s location at a high elevation on the island, which requires guests to climb a significant number of stairs. This property is absolutely not suitable for individuals with mobility issues, and such information should be clearly stated in the listing. Finally, I advise guests to approach the “requests for donations” with skepticism. Despite claims of community engagement or charitable work, I found no evidence of such initiatives.
